When I started writing The Return of The Fallen Angel, the intent was to write our a parody / spoof sequel to the Malayalam movie Lucifer (2019). However, as I started writing, a serious storyline emerged, prompting me to ditch the parodistic elements of the story.
For the Parody version, the title was: “Randaamathe Ellu – The Second Bone”, as a tribute to the various “L’s” all around the place.
The Poster was also along similar lines.
And finally, the character names.
The main character was named Steven Kulappully, as a tribute to the legendary character of “Kulappully Appan” in the Malayalam Film Aaram Thamburan.
The Builder Karthikeyan Thampi, was originally envisioned as a business magnate owning multiple businesses, and was named Yelluri Rajappan, as a tribute to two legendary characters from two films who were icon in their own ways – Bellari Raja from the movie Rajamanikyam and Rajappan Thengummoodu from Udayananu Tharam.
